The past three months have been a truly exciting and eventful time for Livescale. Between being part of the Founderfuel 2019 cohort, chosen as finalists for the L’Oréal accelerator program thanks to the OSMO Fondation’s support, partnering with Startupfest and securing our first clients, we have also tripled our team and moved to new offices in the heart of Montreal. We are at the beginning of a new chapter.
Founderfuel DemoDay 2019
We are privileged to have worked alongside seven dedicated Canadian startups (Nameshouts, HALEO, Power Tree, BoxKnight, OSCP, Willful, Gravy) and learned from experienced mentors as part of the Founderfuel 2019 Cohort. It has been quite the adventure. We met incredible people, heard inspiring stories, learnt a ton and evolved into a strong and driven team. What better way to conclude this chapter than by sharing a few of our learnings with you? Here are three key lessons from the program (selected from a long long list of lessons) we will carry with us going forward:
- Combine skillsets and insights from tech and marketing teams
- Define a clear long-term product roadmap
How to make your news stand-out in the press
- Express your news through numbers, data, rankings or reports
- Tie your news to a trend, holidays or cultural events
- Ensure the local relevance of your news
Productivity isn’t measured in hours
- Balance between working hard and working smart
- Sleep is key
At the end of the program, on July 9th, the members of the cohort presented their innovative solutions in front of the Montreal’s startup community and many Canadian VCs. In partnership with Founderfuel, we broadcasted the entire event with Livescale’s multi-cloud technology and reached up to a thousand viewers.
As a proud partner of the Startupfest’s 9th edition in Montreal, we brought the event to more than 500 people who couldn’t physically attend, live streaming important keynotes so they would benefit from the speakers’ insights. Our entire team was also present at the event, pitching and showcasing our live shopping solution. We were delighted to receive positive feedback and enthusiasm from the audience, as well as coverage by TVA Nouvelles, Bonjour Startup Montreal and the Global News.
“Thank you to Livescale’s awesome team for their support and flexibility during Startupfest! They were all such a pleasure to work with.”– Katherine Johnsen, Marketing and Partnership Director Startupfest
